Krzysztof Wodiczko, Director of the Center for Art, Culture, and Technology at MIT, animates architecture and public monuments by projecting stories and histories onto them. In this way, technology becomes an apparatus for projecting the self outward, for the collection of memory. Set in the midst of the body politic, his art acts as an instrument of knowledge. Giuliana Bruno, author, cultural theorist and professor of Visual and Environmental Studies at Harvard interviews the artist. [

Ellen Driscoll & Anita Glesta, In Conversation 2
Anita Glesta's Gernika/Guernica, shown in Lower Manhattan in Spring 2007, juxtaposed the provocative abstraction of Picasso's infamous painting with survivor accounts of the 1937 bombing of a Basque village. Ellen Driscoll's sculpture Revenant, a bridge made from hundreds of #2 plastic bottles, was recently installed at the Nippon Ginko Bank in Hiroshima, Japan, one of the few structures to survive the atomic blast. The two artists discussed the power of memory and storytelling. [

The Best Use of an Art Magazine (wait for it...)

August 2005 - For this piece I was given an art magazine from the late 50's and told to make a new art work from it (like a book, paper sculpture, collage). 8 weeks later and a deadline approaching, I just wasn't motivated by the magazine. Then I had an idea, and made this video.
